Baptism at St. Dunstan Church
At St. Dunstan Church, the celebration of Baptism is not only a sacred sacrament but also an invitation into a lifelong relationship with our parish community. By choosing to baptize your child here, you are affirming St. Dunstan as your faith community and expressing your commitment to actively participate in and raise your family within the life of the parish.
Requirements
If St. Dunstan is your home parish (i.e., your residence falls within parish boundaries), you must be a registered parishioner in order to have your child baptized here.
If St. Dunstan is not your home parish, a letter of permission from your home parish is required, granting authorization for the baptism to take place at St. Dunstan.
It is presumed that both parents and godparents are baptized in the Catholic Church. Please inform the parish office promptly if any parent or godparent is not Catholic.
Parents and godparents are required to complete a Baptism Preparation course prior to the celebration of the sacrament.
Preparation Courses
Baptism preparation classes are available online at agapecatholicministries.com or in person at the parish on the first Saturday of each month.* Please contact the Parish Office to register for the in-person session.
If parents and/or godparents have previously completed a preparation course, documentation must be provided. If it has been more than five years since completion, the course must be renewed.
Upon completion, certificates should be emailed to secretary@saintdunstanchurch.org or delivered to the Parish Office.
Once proof of completion is received, a baptism application will be provided.
Baptism dates will be confirmed only after all required documentation has been submitted and reviewed.
*Please note: prior course completion must be within the last five years.
Scheduling and Additional Information
Baptisms are celebrated on Sundays at 12:30 p.m., following the 11:30 a.m. Mass, except during the Lenten season (Ash Wednesday through Good Friday).
There is no fee for the sacrament; however, a donation is gratefully appreciated. An envelope will be provided.
