Religious Education (CCD)
The St. Dunstan School of Religious Education is an important part of the St. Dunstan Parish Community. We are dedicated to providing our students with a desire to share in the adventure of faith, learning, liturgy, and life. Our programs provide faith formation for children to grow in love, knowledge, appreciation and desire to become active members of the Catholic Church. We are committed to helping parents encourage and to provide their children with a solid spiritual foundation of their Roman Catholic faith.
Overview of the Program
The St. Dunstan School of Religious Education welcomes all children and youth, who are baptized Catholic and those wishing to be baptized in the Catholic faith, to enroll and participate in our Religious Education Program. Enrollment priority is given to those families who are registered in our Parish. If your family is not registered with our Parish, please fill out our parish registration form.
Important News & Updates
Thank you for your interest in the St. Dunstan Religious Education Program for the upcoming 2017-2018 calendar year. The following forms and information are available for downloading so that you can register your child/children in our Religious Education Program:

Classes for students in Grades 1st through 6th will begin on Tuesday, September 12th at 3:45 p.m. Confirmation classes will begin in October and class information and schedules will be sent under separate cover. Please note that there are mandatory parent/student meetings prior to the Confirmation Programs starting, these dates are located on the class schedules as well as our website.

Schedule of Classes
Religious Education classes for students in Grades 1-6 are held on Tuesday's from 3:45pm - 5:00pm. Students meet in the St. Dunstan School Classrooms.
Religious Education for students in Confirmation I & II are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. Students meet in the St. Dunstan School Classrooms.
**Confirmation II Fees do not include additional retreat fee.**
**LATE FEES: $25.00 (For Registrations Paid After 8/29/2017), Please Include With Your Payment.**
The Tuition Schedule and Sacrament Fees have been set by the St. Dunstan Finance Committee and approved by the Pastor.
Change of Address/Phone
Please notify the Religious Education Office of any change of address or telephone number (work, home or cell) immediately so that we can update emergency contact information. This is necessary in the event of an emergency and we need to contact you or your designated contact.
We need to have a copy of your child's Baptismal Certificate on file. Please enclose a photocopy, we cannot be responsible for originals sent to our office. These copies are kept on permanent file in the CCD Office for use as the student progresses through the Sacrament programs. If your child was baptized at St. Dunstan Church, please call the Rectory 650-697-4730 to obtain a copy.
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Preparation
Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is a two-year program. Children must attend and successfully complete 1st grade (Level 1) Religious Education classes in order to be eligible for 2nd Grade (Level 2). First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation involve classroom instruction, parent meetings, retreat, prayer celebrations and attendance at mass. The involvement of the parents in their child's preparation for these sacraments is vital. The Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are celebrated during the spring of 2nd Grade (Level 2).
Our Confirmation Program is a two-year program for students in Junior High (Grades 7th & 8th). Confirmation I (for first year confirmation students) is designed to explore our catholic faith and beginning preparation for Confirmation. Confirmation II (for second year confirmation students) is designed to finalize the preparation for Confirmation through commitment, service and attendance at a retreat. Students must successfully complete Confirmation I in order to be eligible for Confirmation II. The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated during the spring of Confirmation II.
Special Sacrament Program for Older Students (Grades 3 and up)
Students in Grades 3 and up who still need to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and/or Reconciliation, will be admitted into our Special Sacrament Program which is a two year program. Students will attend CCD classes and special classes to prepare them to receive these Sacraments over the course of the two year program. Please call the Director for further information
Note: All students who are enrolling from another Religious Education Program or parochial school will be required to provide a letter from the Director/Coordinator of the Program or report card indicating that student successfully completed the course requirements for the grade level before being eligible to enroll at the St. Dunstan School of Religion.
Confirmation II News and Updates
The Confirmation II Program will begin on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017. Information regarding the classes will be sent under separate cover to enrolled students.
There will be a mandatory Parent/Student Meeting on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 @ 7:00 p.m. OR Thursday, September 28, 2017 @ 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. Attendance at one of the meetings is mandatory for all families enrolled in the program. Parent and student will need to attend together—no exceptions.

St. Dunstan Parish Athletics
St. Dunstan Religious Education students are invited to participate in the St. Dunstan Parish Athletics Program. The St. Dunstan Parish Athletics Program strives to encourage the physical and emotional growth of our children by establishing a program of competitive sports which stresses the concepts of individual conditioning and effort, fundamentals, sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility, participation and competition.
All Religious Education Program Students must meet the following eligibility criteria to participate in the St. Dunstan Athletics Program:
1. Meeting the PPSL eligibility rules (available from the Athletic Board).
2. Adhering to the guidelines in the St. Dunstan Athletic Program Handbook, including the Conduct and Academics Section (available from the Athletic Board).
3. Meeting the following Parish criteria:
a) Family must be registered in the Parish
b) *Student must have consistent yearly enrollment as well as weekly attendance record
c) Students that are home schooled are not eligible
*Probationary period of one semester will be assessed for students who do not meet the above criteria.
Each child who participates in the St. Dunstan Parish Athletics Program must have a completed Permission Slip turned in along with the athletic fee. Students cannot play/practice until the permission slip and athletic fee is provided.
Each child who participates in the St. Dunstan Athletics Program must be in good standing with the Parish Religious Education Program including tuition.
